Sustainable development & (radical) innovation have been the main interests of Suzanne van den Bosch since the beginning of her studies at the Delft University of Technology. In 2004 she obtained her Masters Degree in Innovation Management, with a specialization in ‘Research’ and a further specialisation in ‘Technology in Sustainable Development’. Suzanne started her professional career with initiating ‘SUSI sustainable innovation’ to work as an independent advisor. After that she worked for an environmental consultancy in Rotterdam in the areas of sustainable product development and corporate social responsibility. In 2005 she started a PhD-research at Drift in order to contribute, together with other interdisciplinary researchers, to the development of theoretical and practice oriented knowledge to better understand and facilitate transitions to sustainable development. In her PhD-research Suzanne has developed and applied a conceptual framework for analysing and managing ‘transition experiments’, which are a key instrument of the governance approach transition management. Since July 2010 Suzanne works as a transition management advisor at Viatore, focussing on the transition to sustainable health care.

In September 2010 Suzanne van den Bosch successfully defended her PhD thesis “Transition experiments. Exploring societal changes towards sustainability”.
