PROJECTS
Some of our ONGOING PROJECTS:
InContext: Individuals in Context
Supportive Environments for Sustainable Living.
InContext tries to identify drivers and barriers for sustainability on an individual and collective level. It assumes that both individual and collective behaviors respond to an external context (like social norms, policies, and infrastructure) and an internal context (like needs, values and priorities) which is why both have to be taken into account when aiming for sustainable development.
MUSIC – Urban Transition Management
Within the Interreg funded MUSIC project, the cities of Ghent, Aberdeen, Ludwigsburg, Montreuil and Rotterdam will develop city specific transition networks and agenda’s in the area of climate and energy. DRIFT will assist the cities in their urban transition management strategies tailored to the specific context and challenges of each city. The MUSIC project therefore also will provide an important empirical basis to elaborate the methodology of urban transition management and apply it in different (national) socio-political contexts.
Reflexive monitoring of the Rotterdam Climate Initiative Programme
Transition monitoring aimed at gradual redesign of the RCI programme towards a transition program, including development of a set of transition indicators for actually monitoring and (re)structuring of progress of desired societal transitions, the targets and strategies.

Spatial Planning Transition
The Habiforum programme aims to develop new concepts and tools for the growing complexity of land development. This study looks at trends in spatial development from a transition perspective. It shows that current spatial planning methods are not geared to the challenges awaiting the Netherlands. A fundamental shift in thinking and acting, a paradigm shift, is needed. Yet there is reason for optimism, because there are many new and innovative micro-scale experiments that create alternatives for the dominant culture and structure. > final report
Corazone: the connection between Rotterdam and Antwerpen

Results have been presented for the top of the ministry of agriculture and in several spatial planning workshops. > final report
